Edge challenges Sheamus to a match.

Edge challenges Sheamus on his promo about his 25th anniversary at WWE. A few years ago, he was a guest on the Cletic Workout show, where he faced different challenges and did a mountain bike stunt. During the challenge, Edge learns that if he is able to do stunts on the bike, he can also wrestle, which ignites the flame for the first time to make an in-ring return after a career-ending injury. Edge made his in-ring return at the WWE Royal Rumble 2020, which is why he would think that Sheamus is the perfect candidate to wrestle on his 25th anniversary in WWE.

Edge said :

                      He(Sheamus) called me, he said, hey, I want to come up and do a show. And he wants to  do different challenges has never done before. So I thought, great,
                      I”ll get him on a mountain bike. He”ll look like an albino gorilla making love to a volleyball. And he did. And I also thought, hey, maybe he”ll
                      wipe out, which should be really funny, at least to me, except he did, I did. At about 20 miles an hour, jumping off a jump downhill. And I rolled
                      to my feet and I looked at the camera, I said. People are gonna see that and go, why can’t he wrestle? And that is when the light bulb lit. (to make a WWE return)

After Sheamus come to the ring and thanks Edge for giving him the best advice I ever heard back in 2004 for pursuing his dream to become a WWE superstar.

Sheamus Said :

                                    In 2004, I was at a crossroads. I was trying to decide whether I was gonna follow my career or my dream in WWE, or if I was gonna go back and work an IT job whatever I was doing at the time.
And I was working in a nightclub in Dubli, Lillie”s Bordello, and WWE came into town There at the O2, the local area, and everybody was there, you know what I mean? The whole Raw crew was there.
And I was like, this is a perfect chance for me to go up and ask for advice and try and get my juices flowing again. And I went up to a lot of talents, and everybody gave me the cold shoulder.
Everybody, but one person. And that person was you. But not only did he give me his time, but he brought me over, gave me the best advice I ever heard, and I went and bought me a pint of Guinness.

As Edge challenges Sheamus the next week of Smackdown in Toronto The Rated-R Superstar is going to battle with the Celtic Warrior Sheamus on Edge’s 25th anniversary. They never faced each other in a one-on-one match; they did some tag matches together to face John Cena and Randy Orton in 2011 before Edge’s retirement.

The Rated-R Superstar Edge might retire after his match on WWE Smackdown in Toronto.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer said that The Rated-R Superstar Edge might retire after his match on WWE Smackdown in Toronto.
Dave Meltzer said :

There’s a big thing here. A year ago, Edge had said he was gonna retire at the (2023) summer show in Toronto.
“And Ron Hutchinson, who is Edge’s trainer, and has known Edge for 30 years, he said that this is Edge’s last match.
“They certainly did not (build it up like that). But that was interesting when he said it’s probably – it’s most likely Edge’s last match.   

In August 2022, Edge told the fans after WWE Raw in Toronto went off the air that his next visit to his home would be a chance for them to “say goodbye to each other that night.” Edge wants to end his illustrious career at his hometown show in Toronto, which just happens this week on Friday Night Smackdown. 
However, WWE is not promoting his retirement match on this week of Smackdown.

Edge Addresses Logan Paul on IMPULSIVE PODCAST

A few months ago, speaking with Logan Paul, IMPULSIVE PODCAST, Logan Paul asked Edage about his retirement. When you are getting off the Merry-Go-Round, how much longer can you go before you have to retire?
Edge said he’s got a little wish list of things that are still to be done, but it’s not as long as the most he might have another year on him.

Edge said :

I didn’t have the chance to end it the way I wanted to this time Im gonna get to do that and now I got two little girls that I gotta spend the rest of my life taking care of so
I got a wish list of things that are still to do um but it’s not long and neither is the time yeah you know uh I think at most I might have another year in to do it at this level and still be able to do it at an elite level where
I can still hang when I gotta get in with Austin Theory was 25 . and you know he wasn’t born when I had my first match for WWE .

Let’s see what will happen this week on Smackdown as we celebrate Edge’s 25th anniversary and lacing up his boots for the last time, or if he beats Sheamus and adds one more page to his legendary career.
